School House cottage in Saxlingham (Norfolk) for your holidays

Welcome to The Schoolhouse Saxlingham.

Completely secluded in a private acre of its own land, with the protection of adjoining School Wood, yet only three miles from Blakeney, The Schoolhouse offers an idyllic sanctuary on the doorstep of North Norfolk’s stunning coastline. Tastefully furnished towards the minimalist, its unusual 30ft long Main Room (the original Schoolhouse) boasts 17ft high, beamed ceilings, stripped wooden floors, rugs and an open log fire. For musical guests, you can feel free to use the piano.

Gothic double doors open out onto the large patio and sun-filled garden which is encircled by a tranquil and picaresque landscape..

The semi-galleried double-bedroom features exposed beams and views across the garden giving a light and airy atmosphere. The well-equipped kitchen has been recently upgraded to provide modern conveniences in a traditional setting.

The Art Shed, tucked away in its own private corner of the garden, is ideal for painters and writers, offering a tranquil working space with a power point for the laptop.

Off the beaten track, Saxlingham village offers the essence of a typical North Norfolk village. Hedgerows scented with dog rose and honeysuckle peppered with sloes and blackberries hem a peaceful rural landscape full of wildlife. This is a haven for escapism at its best.

‘The sheer peace of the place was interrupted only by the occasional hooting of your resident owl!’
