School House cottage in Saxlingham (Norfolk) for your holidays

'This is a perfect hideaway from the stresses of everyday life.'

These are directions for getting to the house, generally you will have to pick the keys up from our agent in Holt.

For those of you who have satnav you can just key in our postcode: NR25 7LA

However for those others who prefer map reading:

If you are coming from London: Get on the M11 and then take the A11 Newmarket turn off (J9) Follow A11 (bypassing Newmarket) which turns briefly into A14 and then back into A11.

At the Barton Roundabout follow the A1065 direction Swaffham...(good bye to dual carriageway for the rest of the route).

Go through Brandon (careful as the road goes left at the second set of traffic lights not straight on)and then at Swaffham as you come into the town you take a right fork still on the A1065 (you are going in the direction of Fakenham and Cromer).

At Fakenham you come to a roundabout which you basically cross over on the A148 direction Holt and Cromer.

Note: there are quite a few cameras on this stretch. You'll go past a Texaco garage on the right and then a couple of miles you'll see a BP garage on the left.

Take the next left turn towards Bale, go through Bale, continue the same road to Field Dalling and in Field Dalling you'll see a road to the right (at a pink house with a post box inset into its wall) take it...direction Saxlingham.

In Saxlingham ignore the first left turning just after the phone box but you take the next one where you turn left just before the church (also with post box inset into the corner wall). Continue down this road, keep straight on (sort of bearing right -- ignore any road markings) and you'll see a couple of houses on the left and then the road becomes a track, drive long for another 200yds or so and you'll be at the Old School House (we're on the left.)

From Holt:

Take the A148 direction Fakenham. Go through Letheringsett. As the hill begins to climb as you are leaving the village you will see a turning on the right to Glanford, do NOT take this one but take the next on signposted ‘Byroad’, where the road forks a few hundred yards later, stay left. As you come into the village you will see the church on the right hand side take the right immediately after the church, continue down this road, keep straight on (sort of bearing right ignore any road markings) and you'll see a couple of houses on the left and then the road becomes a track, drive long for another 200yds or so and you'll be at the Old School House (we're on the left.) Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it!
